What Nags Head does to a window
Nags Head has more oceanfront than any other town on our Outer Banks routes, and the glass shows it. The cottages along the beach road and the elevated homes in South Nags Head take spray straight off the Atlantic on every east wind and dry a white film within a week of a cleaning, and a nor'easter carries the salt across the whole island to the sound side. On the sun side it bakes, and once it bakes it starts to etch. Near Jockey's Ridge the blowing sand is heavy enough to frost the lower panes on a windy week.
The sound side has its own problems. The homes on Roanoke Sound in the Village at Nags Head, Old Nags Head Cove and along Soundside Road take a damp haze every morning that leaves a gray film on the water side of the house, the lagoons in the Village keep the back glass damp, and the live oaks and pines on the interior lots drop pollen each spring. In most cases, yes. Mineral spots from sprinkler overspray need a dedicated treatment rather than regular cleaning. Tell us about them on the quote form and we will look at them on the first visit.
